whelk in the water

later the light was a bit softer but more direct as the sun sunk behind the trees on the western edge of the marsh...the tide was higher too so the scenery was better :)  and it's amazing what a dash of green adds to the image!

Hi fish.

I've always liked this angle for shooting insects, especially dragonflies. Now I find that I really like whelks at this angle too. :-) Nice soft light, fine details along the curves and bumpy facets of the whelk's shell and some nice barnacles as well. The greenery does add a nice dash of color and a bit more animation to the image.
